Trans-Web’s comprehensive range Print E-mail

Trans-Web’s comprehensive range of load securing products are manufactured to accommodate all types of tie-down applications.

The polyester webbing and ratchet tensioners, with a choice of end fittings, are designed for strength, durability and ease of operation.

Systems vary from 25mm for lightweight applications such as roof rack straps to 75mm wide for securing plant and equipment on low loaders etc.  The type and strength of the system will vary according to the load and the distribution of weight.

Lashings are supplied in standard production colours, but if necessary, Trans-Web can discuss individual requirements, for example corporate colours.  In addition a printing service can be offered for company identification.

Trans-Web supplies a comprehensive selection of tensioning devices and end fittings for all appliances.  Additional end fittings are available to suit individual requirements.

Anti abrasive and anti cutting protection is available for most lashings.

Trans-Web recommends that reference be made to the Department of Transport code of Practice ‘Safety of Loads on Vehicles’ [available from HMSO].

Guide to safe lashing

1.  The load must be secure in such a manner that, under normal traffic conditions, the load or part of the load cannot shift, overturn, roll or fall of the vehicle, or cause the vehicle to overturn.  ‘Normal road and traffic conditions’ includes breaking with full force, and any unevenness of the road surface.
2.  Position lashing systems correctly in relation to the load.
3.  Lashing should not be positioned over rough or sharp edges without the use of protective sleeves or corner pieces.
4.  Never use damaged lashing.
5.  Never knot a lashing system.
6.  Ensure that lashing points are of adequate strength.
7.  Do not attempt to overtension lashing using extension levers.
8.  Ensure that at least 1.5 turns of webbing are engaged on the ratchet buckle.
9.  Inspect lashing systems prior to use.
10. Ensure that the correct type of lashings are used when subjected to a chemical environment.
11. Follow the Department of Transport Code of Practice.
12. ensure that the lashing system is labelled with the break strength and rated assembly strength.
